Our History

Our Family’s Business Roots go Back to 1932

The Brown family’s business roots go back to 1932, when Israel Brown founded a trucking company called National Freight. Over decades of growth and expansion, National Freight, now NFI, is a leading North American third-party logistics company with over 18,000 employees. Today, the company is run by the third-generation owners, Sid, Ike, and Jeff Brown, and the fourth-generation, who also play prominent roles throughout the business.

The family has also owned, operated, and invested in several closely held businesses, ultimately leading to the creation of 1932 Capital.
